Commonwealth LNG is a Houston, Texas-based company developing an 8.4 million mtpa LNG export terminal on the US Gulf Coast near Cameron, Louisiana. Commonwealth expects to achieve FID on the project in the second half of 2023, with commercial operations to begin in 2026.

Commonwealth LNG Founder and Executive Chairman Paul Varello has been involved in the engineering and construction industry for more than 50 years.  CEO Farhad Ahrabi previously led a team at Cameron LNG during development, construction, and operations of a 14.5 mtpa export facility in Hackberry, Louisiana.  Earlier, he had spent 28 years in BG Group, among the pioneers of the LNG business.

Its engineering partner, Technip Energies, has delivered many of the world’s top-rated LNG projects and has consistently been a leader in modularization.
