Woodfibre LNG is a privately held Canadian company, constructing a 2.1 mtpa liquefied natural gas export facility about 7 kilometres southwest of Squamish, B.C, Canada.
The Project has approvals from the federal and provincial governments and is the first industrial project in Canada to recognize a non-Treaty Indigenous government, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), as an environmental regulator.
In March 2023, Woodfibre LNG announced its Roadmap to Net Zero, making the facility the lowest carbon intensive and first in the world to commit to net zero emissions.
Site preparation is underway and construction starts in September 2023.
