Ian Revell is the CEO of SIGTTO. Prior to this, he has held senior leadership roles in ship management, classification and consultancy with V.Group and Lloyd’s Register. He has also lead engineering start-ups, scale-ups and consultancies in the maritime and energy industries. Ian enjoyed a 17-year long career with Lloyd’s Register, where he worked in technical and business leadership roles in the UK, Cyprus, and Denmark.

His last role was as Nordic Marine Manager, leading the business operations for Scandinavia. Following this, Ian was the European Technical Director and Global Drydocking Director for V.Group for 4 years. During his career, Ian has been responsible for the delivery of numerous large-scale engineering and technology shipping projects which have made significant contributions to ship safety and energy efficiency.

Ian has been a Chartered Engineer for over 20 years and is a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors.

He read a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Naval Architecture from Newcastle University and Master of Business Administration Degrees at Warwick and Copenhagen Business Schools, he has completed a course in Sustainability Business Management at Cambridge University and is currently reading a Doctorate in Business Administration at Warwick Business School in the field of Entrepreneurship to enable engineering business scaling.
