F.05 Evolution of LNG Pricing and Risk in a Changing Market

Thursday 13 July 2023
Forum | Autumn Sessions | West level 2, Rooms 211-214
Commercial Stimulii , Clear Filters - See Full Programme

The world is changing and the LNG industry must change with it as it faces enormous challenges such as “War and rumours of war,” energy security crises, prices spikes, global inflation, redirection of trade flows, methane rules, tariffs and taxes, evolving governmental and corporate climate promises, post-pandemic re-openings, coming recession, oil price caps, gas price benchmarks, growing energy poverty as wealthy blocs out bid each other for cargoes and many more. Our speakers will discuss how parties can identify and monitor rising political and commercial risks and how they may address these risks in their contracts and commercial structures. The debated issues include:

  • The potential long-term consequences of price caps in Europe
  • Asian price review clauses – can parties agree to disagree?
  • The challenges emerging from North American gas producers entering the international gas market
