The LNG industry uniquely ties up huge amounts of capital for many decades in a critical supply chain that spans the globe and links buyers and sellers. It has long been a laboratory for commercial innovation. The contracts must anticipate geopolitical and other risks, in a way that ensures sharing of risks and taking into account the ability of all parties to evaluate and mitigate them.
