This session explores how regional import and export LNG markets are responding to high prices, as well as the double imperative of decarbonization coupled with the need to secure reliable and affordable energy in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The following topics will be covered:

  • The role of LNG in ensuring security of supply and providing a pathway for China’s decarbonisation; an overview of LNG demand in one of the largest LNG markets in the world
  • The role of LNG and demand drivers in the South and South East Asian markets. Are these markets going to rebound in the wake of very high LNG prices?
  • The outlook for LNG in Africa as an importing and exporting market
  • What does the competitive supply landscape look like, taking into account the dominant role of Qatar and USA as major LNG exporters?
