FIND OUT MORE

LNG2023 organisers require all registrants to make their own inquiries about their ability to enter Canada and offer no representations of the validity of the information provided at any of the links below. The information detailed here is for general informational purposes only.  The use of this information is at the discretion of the end user and is being provided free of charge.

It’s important you are aware of Canada’s entry requirements before making your travel arrangements. Please check with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to determine what travel documentation and other approvals you require to enter Canada.

Make sure you carry proper identification for yourself and those travelling with you. You must be able to confirm your legal right or authorization to enter Canada at the border.

While Canada’s COVID-19 emergency border measures have ended, view the latest status here.

International Travellers

All international travellers must carry acceptable identification and a valid visa (if necessary) when entering Canada. A passport is recommended because it is the only reliable and universally accepted travel and identification document for the purpose of international travel.

Visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website to learn more about what travel documents are required.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) International Events and Convention Services Program (IECSP) has officially recognized LNG2023 as an event.  We recommended all visitors to Canada (with visa or eTA) download a copy of this confirmation letter and present this document to a CBSA Border Services Officer upon your arrival in Canada. Access to this letter will be provided at time of registration confirmation.

Arriving from or through the US

Citizens of the U.S. who are members of the NEXUS program may present their membership card as proof of identification and as a document that denotes citizenship, when arriving by air (when coming from the U.S.), land, or marine modes.

All visitors arriving from or transiting through the U.S. are encouraged to visit the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website for information concerning the U.S. Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, and the requirements to enter or return to the U.S.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Visa-exempt foreign nationals need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada.

Exceptions, or visa and eTA-exempt foreign nationals, include:

  • U.S. citizens
  • U.S Lawful Permanent Residents
  • Travellers with a valid Canadian visa

Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, and Canadian permanent residents do not need to apply for an eTA.

Be prepared: Apply for an eTA before you book your flight to Canada. Most applicants get approved within minutes. However, some applications can take several days to process so don’t wait until the last minute.

Travellers who apply for an eTA are advised to be cautious in all dealings with companies that claim to offer help in getting an eTA. These companies are not operating on behalf of the Government of Canada. Many have established websites that charge a fee to provide information and submit eTA applications.

Apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization at the official Government of Canada website.

Visitor Visa

If you have determined you require a visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa), please visit the Visit Canada website to view all the steps required to apply for a visitor visa.

Success in obtaining a visa will depend on the applicant’s ability to provide sufficient supporting documentation about themselves and the nature of their visit to Canada.  Check your eligibility here.

When registering for either a conference delegate pass or FREE exhibition attendee pass you will have the opportunity to request a Visa Invitation Letter.  Exhibition attendee passes may be upgraded to conference delegate passes at a future point, should you wish to use a FREE exhibition attendee pass to initiate your visa application process.

Visa Invitation letters are normally issued within 48 hours of your application being approved. Invitations will not be issued without an accompanying registration.  Those requesting a Visa Invitation letter will be required to confirm their travel itinerary including details of a confirmed hotel booking.  Book your hotel here.

If you transit through a third country, you may also require a visa for that country (i.e. United States).

Visa processing times can be lengthy, depending on your circumstances, so it's a good idea to make your own inquiries as soon as possible about your ability to enter Canada and apply for your visa.

The Host does not guarantee that the visa issuing authority will issue the visa in a timely manner. The Host or Manager will not contact or intervene with any Embassy or Consulate office on behalf of a Participant.  The Host cannot be held responsible if a Participant’s visa is not approved.  Please refer here to the LNG2023 Participation Terms where event registration amendment and cancellation requirements are detailed.
